
Student Support Services
Kyoto Women's University provides services to support the mental and emotional well-being of our students. Our counseling office provides a safe space for students to discuss any personal issues including but not limited to: school life, studying, career, friends, and personal problems.
The university also offers extracurricular activities. These events include: visiting local temples, watching a Kabuki play, experiencing classical art forms, and attending sports events. Finally, the university provides free insurance for students so that they can enjoy their campus life in comfort.

For international students beginning their studies at the University, we provide information on clothing, food, housing, credit registration, and student life, as well as the various procedures required.
The faculty members and academic advisors in charge of international students are determined in consultation with the faculty members of the relevant departments, taking into account the student's desired faculty and department.
Scholarship Programs
Students may be eligible for on-campus scholarships. Please contact the Student Support Division for details. The International Affairs Division provides information on other scholarship programs offered by external organizations such as the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). We make recommendations after confirming that the applicant meets the application requirements.

Legal Procedures in Japan
The following procedures are required during your stay in Japan. Please make sure you do not forget any of these procedures.
- Applying for a Residence Card
- Change of Residence Status
- Extension of stay
- Permission to engage in activities other than those permitted under the residence status (part-time work)
Enrollment in National Health Insurance
International students staying in Japan for more than three months are required to enroll in the National Health Insurance Scheme. The International Affairs Division will explain how to enroll.
