Kyoto Women's University, Graduate School

The Graduate School of Kyoto Women’s University opened in 1966 and has carried out a considerable amount of significant research work since that time. 2006 saw the establishment of the Graduate School of Human Development and Education; the Department of Living and Welfare Management, in the Graduate School of Home Economics; and the Doctoral course of the Department of Public Spheres Studies, in the Graduate School of Studies in Contemporary Society. These Departments aim to improve graduate education at Kyoto Women’s University. Today, women’s roles in society are rapidly expanding and they are required to have higher specialized knowledge and skills in every field of human endeavour. Unlimited possibilities await students who successfully complete their research programs in our Graduate Schools.

Regular day and special night courses are offered to promote the training of professionals capable of playing active roles in society, and to encourage the improvement of women’s careers. Our strong emphasis on practical training encourages and requires students to participate in social activities before graduation.
